Zulema's playing career began at the age of eleven years old in her hometown town Palmdale California. She joined the first Competitive Club AVFC 2010 Girls. She then played for Ambush SC and took second place in 2012.
The year after (2013) she lead her team to victory with a 4-0 shut-out winning State-cup and then hit the road for Cal-South Regionals in Idaho. Played at Lancaster High School and continued her soccer career playing for Antelope Valley College from 2014-2016. She made It to the team All-conference as a freshman in her first year along with breaking a school record for career shutouts.
